classmethod VelocityModel.read_velocity_file(filename)

Read in a velocity file.

The type of file is determined from the file name (changed from the Java!).

Parameters:

filename (str) – The name of the file to read.

Raises:

• NotImplementedError – If the file extension is .nd.

• ValueError – If the file extension is not .tvel.
